Typically the IP address of the camera which can also be found on the camera is the serial number of the Mobotix camera, it should start with a 10. IP address.
What plugs would be compatible with this cable 100-076?
The most suitable plugs to use with the Excel 100-076 cable would be the 100-118-100 or the 100-122-100.
Do Mobotix repair or replace faulty cameras under RMA and within warranty?
Mobotix will provide you with 2 options when an RMA is raised with them, you will have the choice to either replace the unit or have the unit repaired and returned to you.

Can i connect my Mobotix camera to a speaker or alarm output?
Yes, provided your camera has the appropriate I/O outputs, then you can connet the output to the input of your alarm or speaker.
Am i able to reset a Mobotix camera if i dont have the admin password?
No, due to the design of the Mobotix camera OS, if you have forgotten the password to the admin login of the camera, the camera needs to be returned to Mobotix to be reset which is a chargeable service.
Are Mobotix cameras waterproof?
Yes, most of the Mobotix range of cameras are IP 66 rated.
Can I connect my Mobotix camera to a Hikvision NVR?
Yes, provided you are using ONVIF as the protocol then Mobotix cameras can be added to your Hikvision NVR, this however does not provide full analytic support.
Can the Mobotix move cameras record to their own internal SD card?
Yes the Mobotix Move cameras can record to their own internal SD cards, in the event of network failure to the recorder, the Move camera can be set to record to their SD cards.
What is the lowest lux of Mobotix cameras?
Known for their excellent low light performance, the Mobotix camera such as the SD2A-230-LL VA has a low light sensitivity of 0.001 lux
Can my Mobotix camera record to a NAS?
Yes your Mobotix camera can record to a NAS, within the settings, you are able to enter the network path to the NAS.
Are Mobotix cameras more expensive than other brands?
Mobotix cameras are considered to be on the higher end of the price range due to their decentralized architecture meaning the processing and storage all take place on the camera itself and not the recorder.
When designing my Avigilon setup, what should i consider?
You should take into consideration Camera coverage, cabling requirements such as shielded or unshielded and storage requirements to support the amount of cameras being installed. Other factors to consider would be motion recording or continuous recording, frame rate, compression and bit rate.
Why should I consider Mobotix over other VMS systems?
Mobotix cameras unlike other cameras comes with most of the analytics processing and instruction sets built into the camera itself vs the VMS system or recorder, this allows for advanced analytics such as forensic search capabilities and smart data integration.
How much data is transmitted on the network cabling between Avigilon cameras and the recorder in a second?
Taking into consideration resolution, frame rate and bit rate and analytics, a camera running 1080p at 30fps on H.264 compression would typically result in a daa transmission of between 2-6 Mbps, for higher resolutions such as 4k, the data rate can be as high as 12-20 Mbps.
Can you add maps to Avigilon systems?
Yes you can add maps to Avigilon systems in the ACC software, this allows you to add cameras to your map to show locations of cameras on your site.
What network cabling should I use for my Avigilon camera install?
You can use either Cat5e or Cat6 when installing your cameras, take into consideration that screened cable is better at reducing influencing factors such as EMI when using shielded cable and will prevent abnormalities in showing in your video feed.
What is an Avigilon AI Server?
The Avigilon AI server is a security hardened recorder that provides support for up to 400 cameras, it does not run Windows, the software is accessed through a web browser to the server and additional settings and features are accessed using ACC on a client machine under site setup.
Will I void the warranty of my Avigilon camera if I spray the housing a different colour?
No, provided the internals of the camera are not affected when sprayed, the camera can still be RMAed if reported faulty.
