FAQ

When using the Hit-connect app, is it possible to get the event markers on the playback timeline using this NVR. I have attached a photo of what I mean. Also, when viewing the playback recorded footage what stream is the app viewing? is it the main stream and is it possible to change it to the sub stream ?

"Yes, it is possible to get event markers on the playback timeline when using the Hik-Connect app with certain NVR models. However, this feature may depend on the specific NVR model and its firmware version.
For example, on some Hikvision NVRs, you can view event markers on the playback timeline by enabling specific settings. If your NVR supports this feature, you can typically access it by:
Opening the Hik-Connect app and selecting the desired camera.
Navigating to the playback section.
Flicking up from the bottom of the screen to reveal the event markers on the timeline
If you are not seeing the event markers, ensure that your NVR and cameras are updated to the latest firmware. Additionally, you might need to enable specific event notifications or settings within the app"

RG-ES206GS-P wont power up the rg-est350 v2

"It seems that the RG-ES206GS-P switch cannot power the RG-EST350 V2 directly because the switch does not support the 24V Passive PoE required by the RG-EST350 V21. The RG-ES206GS-P switch supports 802.3af/at PoE standards, which are different from the 24V Passive PoE needed for the RG-EST350 V2
To resolve this, you will need to use a PoE injector that supports 24V Passive PoE. The injector will provide the necessary power to the RG-EST350 V2"

What is the difference between a module and a tool less jack

Modules and tool-less jacks serve different roles in network cabling systems. Modules are designed for organized, large-scale installations with a need for precise, tool-assisted cable terminations. Tool-less jacks, on the other hand, provide a simpler, quicker installation method without the need for specialized tools, making them ideal for scenarios where ease of use and flexibility are prioritized.

Which test limit standard should I use in UK

"For the UK market, the test limits for network cabling typically follow:
Copper Cabling: Compliance with TIA-568-C.2, TIA-568-E, and ISO/IEC 11801, aligned with UK wiring standards and often referenced by BS EN 50173.
Fiber Optic Cabling: Testing against TIA-568-C.3, ISO/IEC 11801, and BS EN 50173 for performance parameters relevant to multimode and single-mode fibers.
Ensuring that your cabling installation meets these standards is crucial for performance, reliability, and compliance with industry regulations. Always refer to the latest versions of these standards and consult with industry experts or certification bodies as needed."
