In light of this, Excel is excited to announce the appointment of a new Country Manager for Australia, John Carrier.
During the past 25 years, John has developed extensive skills and experience in ICT & SCS servicing a wide range of industries throughout Asia Pacific. His strategic planning and implementation ability have made him successful leading sales, customer service, project and product management teams.

At Molex John was the Regional Sales Manager responsible for the management of Sales, Customer Service & Product Management Teams for the India Pacific Region, whilst actively participating as a member of the Molex Premise Networks (MPN) Sales Management Design Team and the Global Copper Development Team.
John’s extensive experience within the Structured Cabling Industry has come via working for Structured Cabling System Manufacturers & Systems Integrators where he has built teams, developed business and grown market share for each of the organisations he has worked for. As a Systems Integrator John has served as a Project Director, Estimator & Project Manager where he as delivered a wide range of Structured Cabling Solutions & specialist electrical systems. It is this experience within the industry and his confidence in working in the Australia market that will be pivotal to Excel’s success in this territory.

Through this agreement, Mayflex will distribute the Mist learning WLAN throughout the UK, providing key channel expansion and enablement functions, by leveraging the latest in cloud, wireless, AI and big data technologies.

June 2018, Mayflex, the distributor of Converged IP Solutions, has recently compiled a library of short informative videos which showcase a selection of the companies’ Specialist Support Services. ‘Specialist Support Services’ from Mayflex formerly ‘Mayflex Channel Assist’ are a range of services which are ideal for projects with limited time available onsite or for rapid deployment projects.
The short 90 second video clips have been produced to help demonstrate exactly what additional support Mayflex can provide to its customer base to help save their time, money and win new business.
Tracey Calcutt, Marketing Manager at Mayflex comments, “Our portfolio of services which can deliver fully tested, readymade or ready configured and pre-assembled solutions are much easier for our sales team to communicate to customers and for customers themselves to understand and appreciate if they can actually see what it is we can provide and what they will get for their investment. Excel Networking Solutions – the copper and optical fibre cabling infrastructure provider – is expanding their Business Development team with the recent appointment of a Director of Business Development.
Jason Holroyd, who was previously responsible for driving specifications of the Excel brand as a Midlands-based Business Development Manager (BDM) between 2009 and 2016, has now taken on the challenge of managing the team of BDMs nationwide. Effective from mid-April 2018, the current BDMs will report to Jason, and together the team will focus on gaining Excel approval within targeted end user vertical markets, IT Consultancies and main contractors.
Jason will report to Managing Director, Andrew Percival, who commented, “Jason’s appointment is fantastic news for Excel. We have strong market share and are present in most vertical markets, however it is important that we continue to build on this foundation through increasing the number of specified opportunities that we become involved in and be enhancing our position in verticals where we are currently under indexed.”
Speaking of Jason’s industry knowledge, Andrew continued, “His years of relevant experience and connections will support our business efforts to increase end user and consultant-led specifications, and to become stronger in markets with growth opportunities, particularly Residential and Data Centre areas.”
The Business Development team is made up of field and desk-based account managers in the Midlands, South, North East of England and Scotland. They have no installer account responsibility, leaving them free to dedicate their time to demand generation in support of Jason’s efforts to drive further specifications of Excel’s copper, fibre, rack and power management solutions.

May 2018, Mayflex, the distributor of Converged IP Solutions, has formed an agreement with IDEAL Networks to distribute several products from their cable certification and security portfolio. IDEAL Networks is part of IDEAL INDUSTRIES, INC., a family run company established in 1916, and provides solutions for testing and documenting data cable, networks and more.
Mayflex will be placing an emphasis on the IDEAL Networks range of security testers including the newly launched SecuriTEST IP. This product is an all-in-one CCTV tester that can connect, power, configure and document which helps to increase productivity from start to finish. SecuriTEST IP combines the functionally of a video monitor, cable tester, PoE injector and laptop in one device reducing equipment investment.

Excel Networking Solutions, the copper and optical cabling infrastructure provider, has been announced as a finalist in two categories for this year’s DCS Awards. The categories are Data Centre PDU Product of the Year for the Intelligent PDU Family, as well as Data Centre Cabinets and Racks Product of the Year for the Co-Location Rack, launched into the comprehensive series of Environ racks and cabinets in Q4 2017.
The DCS awards are designed to reward the product designers, manufacturers, suppliers and providers operating in the data centre arena. The awards ceremony is taking place on the 24th May at The Grange St Paul’s Hotel, London.

Excel Networking Solutions – the copper and optical fibre cabling infrastructure provider – has appointed a new Business Development Manager in France. Enzo Loupy joined the business on 3rd April 2018, beginning with a three week induction programme to familiarise himself with the Excel Networking team.
Enzo joins Excel’s international team after a year-long Technical Sales internship with Sonepar France as well as almost two years’ experience working with electrical and digital building infrastructure company, Legrand.

March 2018, Mayflex, the distributor of Converged IP Solutions, has made some improvements to its website to enhance and improve the experience of its visitors. The enriched search and navigation functions now make it far easier for visitors to browse, find and buy the products that they are looking for. In addition, users can also search by product code to take them to a specific item.
The new intuitive navigation allows a user to browse and traverse through all departments,categories and featured brands quickly and easily. This not only saves time but locates key features quickly and easily with a single click. The powerful predictive search finds products, popular searches and categories as a user types in the search field, again making it faster and easier to find exactly what is required.

The main homepage has also been re-designed to better equip us to highlight and convey useful, relevant and important information to users.”

March 2018, Mayflex, the distributor of Converged IP Solutions, has recently seen a team of staff from across the business complete a 12-month Talent Development Programme (TDP). The Mayflex TDP started in early 2017 and was completed in February 2018. The programme which will run with a new set of candidates throughout 2018-2019, looks at developing individuals personal and business knowledge recognising that not all development is focused at heading towards an ultimate goal of becoming a manager.
6 delegates from a range of departments across the business attended a series of workshops covering strategic leadership, applied finance, Sonepar management training and presentation skills as well as participating in team building events, a volunteer day and completing a group project to present to several company directors. All of this ran alongside individual mentoring sessions with a company director.
