The new introduction of packaging means our jacks can now be delivered to you in specially moulded plastic blister packs, delivered in a tightly fitting cardboard box.
Why choose the 24 pack over the single jacks?
Easier installation
This new packaging will remove the hassle of having to open large quantities of polythene bags whilst on-site, saving you time and labour cost during every installation.
Environmentally friendly
Each pack of 24 is provided with a single sheet of instructions, whilst each single jack is provided with instructions. By choosing the 24 pack, you are contributing to protecting the environment by minimising printing and non-biodegradable packaging.

To coincide of the second phase of fibre products being launched by Excel Networking Solutions into their Enbeam Fibre product portfolio, the company is excited to bring in a yellow fibre duct trunking system to complement the range, and provide a strong, sturdy and protective solution to its fibre customers.
In a different league to alternative trunking, cable management and tray systems, Excel’s new yellow duct trunking system offers a whole host of benefits to fibre users:
Piecing together in individual segments, Excel’s duct trunking system is flexible and suitable for an endless array of installations. A range of unique trunking segments in a variety of bend radii and lengths connect together in an infinite number of ways, allowing users to create a fibre storage solution that is fit for purpose.
As each segment of trunking is a standalone piece of plastic, users can simply remove the section of the cover that they need and make changes to the installation without having to disrupt the whole system, which increases the durability and longevity of the system overall.
The system is fully enclosed, protecting the fibre from dirt and dust. Knowing that cleanliness is one of the most important factors when installing fibre optic cable, the fact that this trunking system helps to limit the contamination to the fibre makes it a strong contender for users choosing a trunking option.
Manufactured from a flame-retardant ABS material, the trunking system meets the LSOH standards to further enhance the protection of the cable.
Excel’s duct trunking system is easy to assemble; the only tools required are a drill, a screwdriver and a saw to cut the channels to length. The system is designed for speed of installation and minimum labour for the installer.
The system is extremely adaptable and will evolve to suit this demanding market. Currently it is supplied in 120mm and 240mm thickness.
Neil Payne, Excel Product Manager, commented on the launch of Excel’s duct trunking system; “The new duct trunking system has been specifically designed with fibre optical cabling in mind, to protect and route the cables efficiently to ensure their lifespan is prolonged.”
Neil continued, “We are excited to incorporate trunking into the Excel fibre portfolio. The flexibility of the product and the ease of installation will help our customers to ensure that any fibre installation is futureproof.”

This month, representatives from Excel were invited to deliver Continuing Professional Development (CPD) training for the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) at WSP in Birmingham. WSP is one of the world’s leading engineering professional services consulting firms, with over 500 offices across 40 countries.
September 2017 saw eight industry professionals attend the CPD session, which primarily focussed around the recently revised Construction Product Regulation (CPR), Power over Ethernet and 2.5Gb/5Gb Ethernet. Modular by design, the course was developed to provide generic industry information as an overview as well as to hone in on specific details, particularly with CPR updates, which are topical in the cabling infrastructure industry with the BS6701 final comments being released next month.
The course content was developed by Excel’s specialists in the technical field, and delivered to the group by Technical Manager, Ian Mckiernan. Business Development Manager for Excel, Mike Kinder, was also on hand to answer the engineer’s questions.
Speaking to the group after the event, the attendees collectively agreed that the course content was useful in gaining a further understanding of the regulations and standards within the industry, and provided a strong foundation for them to be able to explore the topics further to support their own development.

Third party verifications are an independent ‘tick in the box’, verifying either a product or a set of products’ compliance with a particular standard. Excel has invested in such test and verification programmes for over 20 years, working closely with laboratories such as Delta and 3P based in Denmark, and ETL in America.
Excel Category 6 and Category 6A systems are amongst a handful in the industry with both channel and component verification.
This month Excel has gained updated certifications for their 6 port screened and unscreened modules for Category 6 and 6A copper cable (100-235, 100-236 and 100-237), as well as the Category 6 screened toolless butterfly style jacks. These certifications are especially rewarding for Excel as they include testing to the new standards and regulations which covers the proposed higher power and 4 pair Power over Ethernet, which means 2 Amps per connector.
Further certifications will be granted for Category 6A toolless connectors, once the renewal date arrives.
All third party verification certificates are available to view on the Excel website. Alternatively, they can be found on the independent verifier’s websites (Delta, ETL and 3P) or on an individual product page within the ‘Downloads’ tab.

Excel Networking Solutions is excited to announce a new addition to their portfolio of Value Added Services: bespoke engraved labelling.
The comprehensive range of laser engraved labels for patch panels and outlets ensure that every application is professionally labelled from the moment it is installed. Made from the highest quality materials, the laminated laser-engraved labels are designed and printed to the requirements of specific specifications and shipped on the same day for maximum convenience to the customer. Excel understands that labelling is unique to each customer where one size does not fit all. The engraved labelling service is a bespoke offering to ensure that every customer has exactly what they need to create a seamless installation.
Customers can choose from a range of options, with different coloured labels and text available in a range of sizes to suit any requirement. Whilst there are six standard colour options, the selection of non-standard options available means that customers can incorporate corporate branding into their labelling systems, or choose to match the colour of the chosen structured cabling for aesthetics purposes. Font types, sizes and colours can also be chosen according to customer preference for a completely flexible approach to rack organisation.
Richard Cann, Technical Services Manager at Excel, commented “Excel’s labelling service is an exciting addition to the existing range of pre-terminated assemblies. Offering labels either as pre-printed sheets or printed and pre-affixed to the equipment means Excel can continue to provide a service unrivalled in flexibility, quality and reliability.”
Richard continued, “By eliminating the need to think about labelling during installation, our adhesive engraved labelling solution is proven to save a considerable amount of project time, reducing overall cost.”
The bespoke engraved labelling service sits within Excel’s existing range of Value Added Services, which also includes the pre-termination of copper and fibre, the construction of cabinets prior to deliver and the on-site assembly of cabinets and racks. The group of services aims to provide customers with a complete end-to-end solution, reducing installation time, minimising waste and saving on costs.

Excel Networking Solutions is running their annual series of Partner Briefings this autumn. Presentations and discussions will be held across the country, in London, Birmingham, Leeds and Glasgow.
The Excel Partner Briefings are designed to keep Excel Partners and Consultants up to date on all of the developments on the Excel Structured Cabling System – an important event for those who sell and support the Excel solution.
This year, we will be showcasing the recently launched enhanced fibre products within the Enbeam range as well as highlighting further products being added to the range. The events intend to bring attendees up to speed on the latest standards information and our guest speaker, Kevin Wright, from Chemtronics will highlight the importance of fibre cleaning. The events will be educational and informative and will provide our partners with the knowledge and tools to help sell and support Excel.
Last year, we received fantastic feedback from our partners who attended the events. An overall satisfaction rate just shy of 95% across the complete roadshow demonstrates the success of the events and their provision of insightful, accurate information and updates.
Speaking with some of the attendees, an Excel partner commented, “The presentations were interesting & it was good to see complementary topics added to the portfolio that are directly “Excel/Mayflex” related but that also affect the supply chain and industry. Each element of the roadshow was factual and concise.”
Another commented, “The Excel Partner Briefings were a useful reminder of the sales tools, collateral and technical support available from Excel”.

If you would like to apply to become an accredited Excel partner and enjoy future partner briefings, a 25 year warranty and specialist training courses amongst other benefits, you can do so via our website.
July 2017, Mayflex the distributor of Converged IP Solutions has recently uncovered a number of fraudulent activities whereby the fraudsters are pretending to work for accredited customers and have ordered goods to be shipped directly to bogus ‘end user’ sites.
In a number of separate instances, the fraudsters have targeted accredited Paxton partners, they’ve called the Mayflex sales team saying that they are from the company, asked for quotes for various Paxton product codes and having created ‘copycat’ email addresses, to look very similar to those of the individual companies in question, to fool our teams into thinking that when the orders were placed that they were legitimate.
The names of the individuals to look out for in these examples are Mike Andrews, Marvin Taylor and Ian Green – we have passed the information and details across to the police who are now pursuing this matter further.
Commenting on the incident Martin Eccleston, Commercial Manager commented ‘We are taking further steps to help distinguish these fraudulent activities at the earliest stages and where products are being delivered directly on site, in future we will put further checks in place to check that the order is genuine before being shipped. This won’t cause any delay to our customers and orders will be processed and delivered in the usual timely manner that customers expect from Mayflex.’
Martin concluded ‘We would like to issue a word of warning to our fellow distributors and the industry in general to be extra vigilant of this latest scam, there are some very unscrupulous individuals around that will do whatever they can to make a quick buck.’
Keep an eye on the Mayflex website www.mayflex.com for further updates on how as an industry we can work together to fight these types of scams.
