Excel appoints a Country Manager “Down Under”

Excel Networking Solutions, the copper and optical fibre cabling infrastructure provider, has seen great success with their international growth and worldwide expansion in the 21 years since the brand’s inception.  In light of this, Excel is excited to announce the appointment of a new Country Manager for Australia, John Carrier.

During the past 25 years, John has developed extensive skills and experience in ICT & SCS servicing a wide range of industries throughout Asia Pacific. His strategic planning and implementation ability have made him successful leading sales, customer service, project and product management teams.

Speaking of John’s appointment, Ross McLetchie – Director of Sales, MEA & APAC – commented, “John has extensive experience working with Molex building his knowledge of the Australia market, and I am looking forward to supporting him in driving Excel’s product portfolio throughout the country.”

At Molex John was the Regional Sales Manager responsible for the management of Sales, Customer Service & Product Management Teams for the India Pacific Region, whilst actively participating as a member of the Molex Premise Networks (MPN) Sales Management Design Team and the Global Copper Development Team.

John’s extensive experience within the Structured Cabling Industry has come via working for Structured Cabling System Manufacturers & Systems Integrators where he has built teams, developed business and grown market share for each of the organisations he has worked for. As a Systems Integrator John has served as a Project Director, Estimator & Project Manager where he as delivered a wide range of Structured Cabling Solutions & specialist electrical systems. It is this experience within the industry and his confidence in working in the Australia market that will be pivotal to Excel’s success in this territory.

Mayflex Appoints UK Sales Director

August 2018, Mayflex, the cabling infrastructure, networking and electronic security solutions distributor has promoted Ross McLetchie to the position of UK Sales Director.

Ross has held the position of Regional Director for the company’s Middle East Africa and APAC business for the past 6 years and will relocate to the UK to take up the new role from October 1st, retaining strategic leadership and development responsibilities for the APAC region.

Prior to joining Mayflex, Ross spent 12 years at a couple of the UK’s leading systems integrators, the latter part of which carried responsibility for sales and business development of infrastructure, security and wired and wireless networking solutions.

Commenting on the appointment Andrew Percival, Managing Director, stated ‘Mayflex has a long-standing tradition of developing its people and building career progression opportunities, today’s announcement is yet another positive example of this.  Ross has repeatedly demonstrated the qualities we are looking for in the person to take on this challenging and exciting role. Mayflex Appoints a New Account Manager for the South East Region

September 2018 Mayflex the distributor of Converged IP Solutions has appointed a new Account Manager to manage and develop accounts in the South East with a specific focus on the security product portfolio as part of the converged solution.

John May joined the business at the end of August and comes to Mayflex from a security distribution background so is familiar with the business model used by Mayflex to reach the market and its customer base.

John’s career background is largely security based and has encompassed a variety of responsibilities including business development, field sales and account management, all of which have equipped him with an excellent foundation for the role he has undertaken with Mayflex.

Steve Proctor, Director of Sales Security at Mayflex commented, “John has joined the Mayflex team at a very exciting time. FullForce Logistics Delivery Truck Named after Mayflex Customer Services Manager

October 2018 Mayflex the distributor of Converged IP Solutions has seen one of its logistics partners ‘FullForce Logistics’ name one of their delivery fleet after their customer services manager. FullForce Logistics approached Mayflex to gain permission to add the name ‘Harps’, short for Harpal to the front of one of their main vehicles during September.

Harpal Sambi has worked in the Mayflex customer services department for 18 years and currently leads a team of 9 staff. The team’s primary function is to deal with all queries and issues that come in to the business from customers, after the goods have been dispatched. This can range from rectifying incorrect shipments, chasing deliveries to arranging collections and processing replacement orders.  

Martin Eccleston, Commercial Manager at Mayflex comments, “As Customer Services Manager, Harpal is responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction through her team by responding in a quick, efficient and professional manner. She works closely with all internal departments as well as our third-party carriers FedEx and FullForce Logistics, consistently managing and monitoring their performance.”

Martin continued, “Her relationship with both of these companies is critical to the overall success of the service given to our customers. The fact that one of these partners wanted to name one of their vehicles after Harpal shows the respect and support they have for her and is wonderful to see.”

Mayflex Expands its Distribution Centre

November 2018, Mayflex the distributor of Converged IP Solutions has announced that it will be expanding its Midlands Distribution Centre with the opening of a brand new, state-of-the-art warehouse, assembly and office facility located 0.5 miles from the Mayflex head office.

The new facility will provide 64,500sq ft of warehousing, including 4000sq ft additional office, training and demonstration space.  The expansion coincides with a considerable investment being made into a new Warehouse Management System (WMS) that will provide a seamless solution to manage the stock held across the various Mayflex locations.

Andy Cooper, Chief Operations Officer commented ‘This multi-million-pound investment within our warehouse will ensure that we have the capability to scale to 2030 and beyond based on our growth projections for the business.   We will eventually move the Environ build and training facility from the existing Environ House to this larger facility, which will also provide far greater storage capacity and further office space to house our ever-growing workforce.’

Andrew Percival, Managing Director commented ‘Mayflex continues to grow year, upon year, particularly with the Excel brand that is sold across the World and with an expanding portfolio, with a new range of products being launched in January 2019 and new markets opening up in Australia and the USA to name but a few.  We are also a major player in the distribution of IP security solutions and this growing market requires us to hold large stocks of products for next day free delivery.’

Mayflex Introduces Great New Features to its Xtra Online Ordering Facility

January 2019, Mayflex the distributor of Converged IP Solutions has introduced a number of new and exciting features to its website. The Xtra online ordering facility is a dedicated area of the website available to both existing account holders and entirely new customers to Mayflex.

Improvements include customers being able to order cut cable, including fibre via their Xtra account. By answering a couple of simple questions which specify how long they want the cable to be and how many cuts they’d like it to have cut cable can be ordered in this way.

An existing Mayflex customer can now create a mayflex.com account themselves, online, rather than waiting for the request to be processed manually by a member of staff.

The last of these developments offer customers an option to pay for their online purchases using a visa, maestro or master card, offering them a maximum spend of £2000 per transaction. Newly registered customers to Mayflex can spend a maximum of £500 per transaction.

Excel Expands UK Business Development Team

Excel Networking Solutions, the copper and optical cabling infrastructure provider, is delighted to announce further expansion of their UK Business Development team.  Daniel McKeon has recently been promoted to Business Development Manager and will be covering Central England between Leeds and Milton Keynes, including Wales, West Midlands and East Midlands.   

Jason Holroyd, Director of Business Development at Excel commented, “I am looking forward to working more closely with Daniel throughout 2019 in this exciting new role.”

Sharon Powell will be responsible for the Central regions and Janna Butler will look after the South-West area.
