Our Infrastructure and Support team is the backbone of day-to-day operations. From proactive monitoring to disaster recovery, we’re focused on keeping everything running smoothly - often before anyone notices there’s a problem. We’ve strengthened our network monitoring capabilities with advanced tools that give us deeper insights, faster alerts, and greater control - helping us stay ahead of issues before they impact performance. 

We’ve also raised the bar on service desk SLAs, consistently outperforming industry standards. That means faster resolutions, happier teams, and fewer delays for our customers and suppliers. And when it comes to upgrades, we don’t just roll out new kit - we pilot, test, and refine. Our early adoption of Microsoft Intune allowed us to deploy new laptops and software seamlessly, reducing disruption and boosting productivity.

Cybersecurity isn’t optional – it’s essential for Mayflex & Sonepar.  We’re ISO 27001 certified and committed to safeguarding information about our employees, customers and suppliers, preserving the trust of all parties with whom we do business. 

Business Systems That Empower Growth

On the Business Systems side, we’ve embraced Agile methodology to stay responsive and focused. We continually inspect and adapt our approach through Agile and Scrum practices and ceremonies - enhancing our tools, refining our processes, and prioritising projects based on business value.  And at the heart of every decision is one key question: how does this benefit the customer?

Take our ERP upgrade, for example. It’s not just a system refresh - it’s a leap forward in capability. With RESTful APIs now in place, we’re enabling real-time data sharing across platforms. That means faster order processing, better stock visibility, and smoother integrations with supplier systems. From the warehouse floor to the Mayflex website -  the upgrade is coming, and you’ll feel the difference from day one.

We’ve not only introduced Automation systems into our warehouse operation but also maintain a primary focus on automating key processes around the business, reducing manual effort and improving accuracy. And features like electronic delivery notes and online returns - once seen as “nice to haves” - are now standard, thanks to customer demand and smart system design.

Innovation That Makes a Difference

We’re proud to be early adopters within the Sonepar group, often selected to pilot new technologies. That eagerness has paid off - giving us access to cutting-edge tools that enhance customer experience and streamline supplier interactions.

One standout initiative is our new “ReelCycle” programme, which encourages customers to return composite reels for reuse. It’s simple, sustainable, and supported by backend systems that track deposits and returns automatically. It’s a great example of how IT can support environmental goals while improving operational efficiency.

We’re also exploring final-mile delivery automation, What3Words integration for address accuracy has already been introduced, and direct API calls between sales and warehouse teams - all designed to reduce friction and improve service.
